Arrogant Tomato Toast
Sourdough fried in za'atar-spiced olive oil until crisp, spread with cool labneh and piled with thick slices of summer heirloom tomato. Flaky salt, black pepper, and a final drizzle of that fragrant za'atar oil make it sing.
Ingredients
- 1 slicesourdough bread
- —olive oil · for frying, plus more for drizzling
- —za'atar
- —labneh
- 1 sliceheirloom or beefsteak tomato · thick slice from a large tomato
- —flaky salt
- —black pepper
Steps

Fry the sourdough bread in olive oil with za'atar until crisp.

Spread the toast with labneh.

Slice the heirloom or beefsteak tomato and lay a thick slice over the labneh.

Top with plenty of flaky salt and black pepper, then drizzle with any leftover za'atar oil and more olive oil.
