Build-Your-Own Family Pizza Night
Par-baked homemade crusts turned into a build-your-own pizza bar, so everyone gets exactly the toppings they want. One half goes pepperoni, ham and crumbled Boursin, the other half stays plain for the kids.
Ingredients
- 4pizza crusts · made from your favorite pizza dough recipe
- —pizza sauce
- —shredded cheese
- —pepperoni
- —ham
- —Boursin cheese · crumbled
- —mushrooms
Steps
- 1
Make and proof pizza dough using your favorite crust recipe, then shape it into four crusts on pans.
- 2
Prick the shaped crusts all over with a fork to keep big bubbles from forming (skip this if you like big bubbles).
- 3
Par-bake the crusts, then pull them out of the oven and set them on a heatproof surface.
- 4
Let everyone build their own pizza on the hot par-baked crusts: spread sauce over the surface, spreading it out so it isn't dumped in one spot, then add cheese and toppings. Divide a crust in half if two people want different toppings.
- 5
Return the topped pizzas to the oven and bake about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- 6
Slice and serve — ideally in front of a movie.
Creator's notes
Jessica doesn't show her crust method on purpose — she uses a pizza crust recipe anyone can find online and tells viewers to find their own. Careful with the hot pan when the kids help build.
