Whatever-I-Had-On-Hand One-Pot Sausage, Bacon and Pea Pasta
Browned garlic-Gruyère sausage and leftover bacon simmer with pasta right in the chicken broth, then get finished with Boursin, cream cheese and shredded Gruyère for a creamy weeknight one-pot dinner. Frozen peas tuck into every noodle for little pops of sweetness.
Ingredients
- —Roasted garlic and Gruyère sausage · two packages, sliced or chopped
- —Cooked bacon · leftover, chopped
- —Olive oil
- 1 poundPasta · whole box, short shape
- 1 boxChicken broth
- —Garlic salt · to taste
- —Boursin cheese · a small amount
- —Cream cheese
- about 1 cupFrozen peas · used straight from frozen
- —Gruyère cheese · shredded
Steps

Chop the sausage and the leftover cooked bacon.

Add olive oil to a large pot and cook the chopped sausage until it starts to brown.

Add the whole pound of pasta and a box of chicken broth, then season with garlic salt.

Cover with a lid and let it cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the liquid has reduced.

Stir in the Boursin and cream cheese until melted and creamy.

Add the frozen peas straight from the freezer and stir them in.

Stir in the shredded Gruyère until melted, then fold in the chopped bacon and serve.
Creator's notes
Made entirely from what was on hand — the pasta cooks right in the pot with the sausage so there are no extra dishes. The peas nestle into the pasta shapes.
