Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
Soft, fluffy muffins packed with melty chocolate chips and sweet mashed banana, finished with tall golden bakery-style domes. They come together in one bowl and bake in about 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cupsall purpose flour · 180g
- 1 teaspoonbaking soda
- 1/2 teaspoonsalt
- 2/3 cupsugar · 113g
- 1 cupsemisweet chocolate chips · plus more for the tops if desired
- 3medium ripe bananas · or 1 cup of mashed banana
- 1/3 cupmelted butter · slightly cooled (75g)
- 1large egg
- 1 teaspoonvanilla · 5ml
Steps

Preheat the oven to 375F and line a muffin tin with papers.

Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and sugar in a bowl, whisk together, and set aside.

Mash the bananas in a large bowl, then add the egg, melted butter, and vanilla and mix to combine.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet and fold together with a spatula until almost combined. Add the chocolate chips and continue mixing until distributed and the batter comes together.

Distribute the batter into the muffin tin and top with additional chocolate chips if desired.

Bake at 375F for 17-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Creator's notes
The video notes that the tall golden domes come from a two-temperature bake that doesn't add extra time.
