Cockroaches (Snickers-Style Stuffed Dates)
Pitted dates stuffed with granola butter and peanut butter, drizzled in melted chocolate and finished with flaky sea salt. They're crunchy outside, gooey inside, and taste like a Snickers bar.
Ingredients
- 12dates, pitted · any kind will do, but I used the deglet noor variety
- 1/4 cupOat Haus granola butter
- 1/4 cupcreamy peanut butter
- 1 cupchocolate chips
- —flaky sea salt · for garnish
Steps
- 1
Split the dates open (but don't fully separate them) and press them flat with your thumb on a plate.
- 2
Place about a teaspoon of granola butter, then peanut butter, on each date.
- 3
Microwave the chocolate chips in 30-second increments until melted.
- 4
Drizzle the melted chocolate on top of each date and top with a tiny sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
- 5
Pop the plate of cockroaches in the freezer for about 10 minutes, until the chocolate has hardened.
- 6
Try one.
Creator's notes
We're not using a double boiler because I don't feel like it. It's pretty hard to mess up this recipe, so don't worry.
