Easy Apple Pie
A comforting holiday classic built on a mix of apple varieties and a gently spiced filling that needs no pre-cooking. Raw apple slices go straight into the crust and bake up tender.
Ingredients
- —apples · a mix of your favorite varieties, sliced
- 2pie crusts · one for the bottom, one for the top
- —spices · for a gently spiced filling
Steps
- 1
Slice the apples and toss them with the spices to make the filling; there's no need to cook it first.
- 2
Line a pie dish with one crust and fill it with the raw apple mixture.
- 3
Cover with the second crust.
- 4
Bake until the apples are tender.
Creator's notes
He tested this pie many times with both cooked and uncooked fillings. The fresh, uncooked apple filling made a delicious classic pie and skips the time spent cooking and cooling the filling before assembly.
