Ground Chicken Burgers
Juicy, tender ground chicken patties seasoned with garlic, parsley, and paprika, then pan-seared until golden. They come together with basic pantry ingredients and pack 22 grams of protein per burger.
Ingredients
- 1 poundground chicken
- 1/2 cupItalian breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoonsmayonnaise
- 2 tablespoonsminced onions
- 1 tablespoonfresh parsley
- 1garlic clove · minced
- 1/2 teaspoonpaprika
- 1/2 teaspoonsalt
- 1/4 teaspoonblack pepper
- 1 tablespoonavocado oil · for cooking
- —hamburger buns · for serving
- —lettuce, tomato, and red onions · for serving
Steps
- 1
In a medium bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, onions, parsley, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix with your hands until well combined, but don't over mix.
- 2
Form the mixture into 4 patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Press down in the middle of each patty with your thumb so they don't puff up while cooking.
- 3
Preheat a large non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add the oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
- 4
Once the pan is hot, add the chicken burgers and cook about 5-6 minutes on the first side, until the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook another 5-6 minutes on the other side.
- 5
Check with a meat thermometer that the internal temperature reaches 165°F. If they need more time, reduce the heat slightly and continue cooking until fully done.
- 6
Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
Creator's notes
The thumbprint in the center of each patty keeps the burgers from puffing up as they cook, and the mayonnaise helps keep lean ground chicken juicy.
