Homemade Dubai Chocolate Bar
A crackly chocolate shell filled with toasted kataifi tossed in pistachio butter and tahini, for a fraction of the price of the viral bar. Crisp, nutty, and dangerously easy to make at home.
Ingredients
- 2 ounceswhite chocolate chips
- 12 ouncesmilk chocolate chips · divided
- 1/4 cupunsalted butter
- 8 ounceskataifi shredded dough · finely chopped
- 2 jars (7 ounces each)pistachio butter
- 1/4 cuptahini
Steps
- 1
Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until fully melted. Drizzle it with a fork into two 16-ounce chocolate molds and set aside in the freezer for 10 minutes.
- 2
Place 10 ounces of the milk chocolate chips in another microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until mostly melted. Fold in the remaining 2 ounces of chocolate chips and stir to combine.
- 3
Pour about half the melted chocolate over the white chocolate drizzle and use a pastry brush to evenly coat the bottom and sides of the molds. Let set at room temperature for 5 minutes, then freeze for 20 minutes.
- 4
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the kataifi and cook, stirring constantly, until browned and crispy, about 10 minutes.
- 5
Turn off the heat and stir the pistachio butter and tahini into the kataifi. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes while the chocolate molds set.
- 6
Divide the pistachio filling equally between the chocolate molds and spread it evenly to the top of the mold.
- 7
Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the pistachio filling and use an offset spatula to spread it flat with the top of the mold. Freeze for 20 minutes.
- 8
Remove the bars from the molds, cut into pieces, and enjoy immediately. Store in the fridge for the best texture.
